Cindy was introduced to ASL and the deaf community in Houston, TX, in 1995. She began her interpreting education at a local community college and pursued further professional education and training in Washington, DC. Cindy has enjoyed a successful career as an independent business owner and contract interpreter for more than 20 years. She enjoys researching, developing, and presenting workshops and seminars as well as mentoring interpreters who are new to the profession. Cindy's values include learning, sharing resources, promoting effective communication, and encouraging others to achieve their goals through personal and professional development. She considers herself a lifelong learner, constantly seeking opportunities to hone her knowledge and skills as an interpreter, business woman, community member, and leader. While she currently resides and interprets in "Sweet Home Alabama", Cindy also travels to various states and countries for both business and pleasure.
